FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SERVICES

In collaboration with National Youth Advocate Program and South Carolina’s Department of Social Services; we provide Family Engagement Services in 3 of the 5 Regions in the State of South Carolina. The regions make up 26 Counties including Greenville, Beaufort, Charleston, and Florence.  Family Engagement Services are designed to empower families whose children are involved in the child welfare system and to assist those families in developing plans to ensure the safety and well-being of their children.
Family Engagement Services are comprised of the following services*:
- Family Team Meeting
- Family Group Conference
- Unlicensed Relative Assessment

A family may participate in all three or only one of these services*

What to expect if you have been contacted to participate in a Family Team Meeting or Family Group Conference.

The South Carolina Family Engagement Service model is based off the Family Group Decision Making principles. Our Family Group Conference model holds fidelity with best practices as established by the American Humane Association. (Source: SC Families First). A Certified Family Engagement Services Coordinator is assigned to work with the family throughout the process. The assinged coordinator is a neutral party who will assist the family in creating their plan.
