Dandelion Young Parents Program

Who is Eligible?
A mother expecting her first live birth and has never parented a child
 
A mother who has previously been pregnant, but experienced a stillbirth, miscarriage, or had an abortion,
 
A mother has previously parented her child but her parental rights were terminated
 
A mother who has delivered a child, but the child died within the first 24 months of life
 
A mother who has parented a child but there is an age gap of 15 or more years since the last delivery.
 
The At-Risk Infant is eligible for case management under this population to the second birthday.
 
Details.
Parent Services offers case management, parenting groups through schools and community support. centers. Mothers work with case managers to develop and implement a plan to reach educational and parenting goals.
 
Locations.
Case Managers are located throughout the state of South Carolina and services are rendered in the mom's local areas and residence. 
 
Parenting groups are offered at area school and community locations.

Our program helps young parents understand how to prevent unplanned pregnancies, navigate community resources, and gain access to tools and support that allow for success in their education and in their new role as a parent.
